Week 18 will be worth $4,605.00 to a single winner
Philadelphia! We have Philadelphia to thank for our rollover. Had they won we would have had at least 12 winners split the pot. Depending on the outcome of tonight’s Texas-Washington game, it could have been up to 19. Well that’s not to be. So let’s not dwell on how much my favorite team has been sucking lately. Especially since I would have been 1 of the 12.
Instead, as we enter the final week of the season, we have a 3 week rollover to battle over. And where has this season gone? Didn’t we just start this thing about 3 weeks ago? If seems that the older I get the faster that time speeds by. I need that to slow down a bit.
Anyway, getting back to Week 18. As you all probably know by now, this week is a little light on games. All we have are 2 NFL Saturday games, 14 Sunday games. And the College Championship game on Monday night. Then the season is a wrap.
For the new Poolers, and those with a memory of a gnat, since this is the last week of the season, the Pool recognizes the Pooler or Poolers with the most wins. If no one has 10 wins, those with 9 will split the pot. If no one has 9 wins , blah, blah, blah . . . So strive for the 10 and not worry about what anyone else is doing.
One thing that makes it a little more difficult to pick winners this week is that several teams will elect to sit their starters. Especially those teams that have a playoff spot and position secured. They don’t want to risk their stars being injured right before the playoffs. The problem is, at this point, we don’t know which teams will be doing that. And, since there are early and late games on Sunday, the outcome of an early game may determine what a later starting team does with their players. So good luck with that!
All of the 3 add on Pools are coming down to an exciting conclusion. We now have a tie at the top of the Accumulative Pool with Golfboy and Mwex10 sitting with 123 wins after 17 weeks. In 3rd place, all by himself is Big Ol’ Ditka with 122 wins. Only 1 win out of 3rd is Packer Backer, and right behind him are Gator Dragon and Lowes RAIDeRS. All of the Poolers will have their picks held back until all of their picks are received.
And just a reminder, if the season were to end today, Golfboy and Mwex10 would split 1st and 2nd place money and Big Ol’ Ditka would collect 3rd place by himself.
The Pick 1 Winner Pool didn’t lose any of the 4 still participating this week. All 4, Beardown, dwex, TexMan and ZMACK all have 1 loss. Therefore there is no need for the tiebreaker.
The Pick 1 Loser Pool is down to 2 with the elimination of Macker. The Roomba is thus far without a loss. He would win the tie-breaker over TOGOM if he finishes the season without losing a game.
