ROLLOVER!!!
Week 9 will be worth $3,060.00 to a single winner
It didn’t take much to derail the field this week. Just two major NFL upsets in the Pick 10 turned what could’ve been another massive list of winners into the second rollover of the season.
Miami (7 picks), a heavy underdog to Atlanta (272 picks), got steamrolled—knocking out nearly everyone who had survived Thursday through Saturday. But not quite everyone.
Surely, the winless Jets (10 picks) stunning the Bengals (220 picks) would wipe out the rest and seal a Week 8 rollover, right?
Well… not so fast.
As I scanned my worksheet, I spotted one Pooler still standing with a perfect slate. Before logging any more results, I had to find out who this genius was. I opened my Weekly Picks 2025 spreadsheet and started scrolling. It didn’t take long—Bayside Tigers had zero red marks on his row. My first thought: we might have our third solo winner of the season.
But I wasn’t done. I had only graded 2 of the 6 early games.
Next up: Cleveland (10 picks) vs. New England (246 picks). Cleveland lost. And wouldn’t you know it—Bayside Tigers, who had somehow dodged both Atlanta and Cincinnati, was also one of the 10 who picked Cleveland.
Result: ROLLOVER.
And just when I thought I’d seen it all—Bayside Tigers was the only Pooler to pick Tennessee (1 pick) over Indianapolis (288 picks). Unreal.
Aside from those two NFL shockers and a couple of college curveballs, the rest of the week played out as expected. Eleven Poolers managed to rack up 9 wins: BH Reach, Bucktown Hotshot, Dirt Muffins, FFjunkie23, Frosty Balls, Fumo09, Hog For Life, Jessica JJ, Little E, Lobo Mojo, and MagicMan. They can only imagine what might have been. Still, a strong showing.
Pick 1 Pools Update:
• In the Pick 1 Winner Pool, we lost another 43 Poolers. From the original 324 entries, 162 remain.
• In the Pick 1 Loser Pool, 23 were eliminated in Week 8, leaving 163 survivors.
Leaderboard Watch:
FUBAR holds a slim lead over Bluto2me, 63 to 62. But Bookee, Deception27, and GauxGaux are right there, tied for second. And just behind them, a pack of 11 Poolers are within striking distance.
📱 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Many of you are submitting picks via phone. The homepage has a lot of info, and it’s tough to optimize for mobile. As a result, I’ve been seeing some odd submissions—like picking both teams in a game or mixing up the Pick 1 Winner and Loser Pools.
If you’re using your phone, please rotate it to landscape mode for the best view. And double-check your picks before hitting submit.
Looking Ahead to Week 9:
We’ve hit the halfway point of the season. This week features:
• 11 college games (including one Thursday and one Friday)
• 14 NFL games
• And the Chosen One matchup: Kansas City at Buffalo
