ROLLOVER!!
Week 5 will be worth $8,200.00 to a single winner
“It’s like déjà vu all over again.” – Yogi Berra, probably watching this Pool from above
If you were expecting Week 4 to behave differently than Weeks 1–3, I admire your optimism… but you may be living on a distant, football‑less planet. The trend continues: favorites aren’t favorited, underdogs aren’t underdogs, and chaos is undefeated. Every week, two or three bottom feeders suddenly decide they’re the ’85 Bears, just long enough to vaporize the majority of the Pool.
The fun began with the final college game of Saturday night: Baylor vs Arizona State. Only about 10% of the 3,290 total picks went to the 18 college teams available, but 84 brave souls hitched their wagon to Arizona State. That wagon promptly exploded.
Sunday morning brought hope — favorites were actually winning — until New England marched into Buffalo and ruined 294 Poolers’ afternoons. That single loss triggered the rollover. The Bills Mafia may be used to heartbreak, but this one spread to 329 Poolers.
A few more upsets joined the party:
- Detroit’s loss took out 166.
- The Chosen One game (Atlanta vs New Orleans) nuked 227 Poolers when the Saints forgot how to football.
But hey, it wasn’t all doom and sadness. Cstan7, EDGE, Howie, Shake Your Money Maker, and The Machine somehow navigated the minefield and posted 9 wins. Another 84 Poolers hit 8 wins, and the average win total was 6.65 — the highest of the season. Progress!
Pick 1 Pools
- Winner Pool: Started with 226. Down to 203. Twenty‑three people now have more free time next Sunday.
- Loser Pool: Began with 237. Down to 204. Thirty‑three bit the dust, proving that picking losers is harder than it looks.
Accumulative Pool
We have a leader: DeeJay sits at 30 wins. Right behind at 29 wins: Lil Wambo, C. Hawk 80, Tiffany, Anthonym311, Silverfox, Door Bumper Clear, Weekend Ron, and C2COOL.
There are still 14 weeks left, so none of this means anything yet. Expect the leaderboard to look like a snow globe someone keeps shaking.
That wraps Week 4. And just so everyone fully appreciates the moment: $8,200.00 is the largest pot in the 30+ year history of the Pick 10 Football Pool.
Who wants it? Who’s bold enough to claim it? Who’s ready to go 10‑0 in Week 5?
Step right up. The money’s warm.
