The story just keeps repeating itself. This is now the 10th time in 16 weeks that Poolers have cashed in on their sharp picks.
After Sunday’s games, Baarty Party had already secured at least a share of the $1,530 pot—marking their second straight win and third of the season. But the drama wasn’t over. Shake Your Money Maker (1st win), Steelers Rule (3rd win), and wargie (2nd win) all entered Monday Night Football needing only a San Francisco victory to grab their share. Honestly, I could’ve declared them winners early; this matchup was basically a gimme. The Colts did sign a grandpa to play quarterback last week—he’s holding his own, but this wasn’t the game for miracles.
In the end, all four winners walk away with $382 each, a nice little bonus heading into Christmas. I’m sure they’ll put it to good use—maybe a couple extra pencils and a doll or two.
This week delivered its share of surprises. On the college side, Texas A&M let down 83 Poolers. NFL upsets included:
• Kansas City (76 picks)
• Tampa Bay (80 picks)
• Denver (137 picks)
• Detroit (236 picks)
And while not technically an upset, The Chosen One game took out 133 Poolers who backed Baltimore.
In the Pick 1 Winner Pool, we started the week with 22 still alive. Only MJ fell off, thanks to Detroit. Agent Zero, Junior D, and Mwex10 remain undefeated.
The Pick 1 Loser Pool was a whole different story. We began with 20; 13 were eliminated. That leaves just 7 standing. Princess Brittany is still perfect—only two weeks away from a flawless season.
A reminder on tie-breakers for both Winner and Loser Pools: anyone who finishes the season without a loss automatically wins over those with one loss.
The Accumulative Pool just got interesting. After Week 15, Hail Yeah held what looked like a comfortable 4‑win lead over Baarty Party. But Week 16 flipped the script—Baarty Party posted 10 wins to Hail Yeah’s 7, trimming the lead to just one game heading into the final two weeks. That’s 123 wins vs. 122. Fantastic competition.
In third place sits AL&BW with 120 wins, two behind the leader.
Right behind them at 119 wins: Bedaman, Canadian Joe, Conman999, Debar, scodog, and Steelers Rule. Close, but not quite in striking distance yet. All of these Pooler’s Week 17 selections will be suppressed until everyone’s picks are in.
Looking ahead, Week 17 is light on college action. There are several bowl games, but not enough quality matchups to meet Pick 10 standards—so just six college games this week.
The NFL, of course, is full throttle. But with three Christmas Day games on Thursday and two more on Saturday, Sunday pickers will have to choose 10 out of only 11 games. Might be a good week to get those picks in a little earlier.
