Week 15 update: Feast or famine in Pick 10
Feast or famine—that’s what the Pick 10 Football Pool has become these last two years. Either we have a pile of winners or none at all. The original idea was simple: build big pots through rollovers so one or two Poolers could get lucky and take home a massive payout. That dynamic has shifted, largely because so many good teams are playing bad teams—and Poolers are flocking to those mismatches together.
Participation and perfect weeks
• 2023: 308 Poolers; 35 perfect 10-0 weeks in the first 15 weeks.
• 2024: 319 Poolers; 285 perfect 10-0 weeks.
• 2025: 307 Poolers; paying out 166 perfect 10-0 weeks.
The Chosen One game did trim the winners somewhat, but not as much as expected. Maybe in 2026 we make it 10 Chosen One games. 😂
Week 15 outcomes pending Dolphins–Steelers
So far, 28 Poolers have finished perfect at 10-0. Congratulations to:

• If the Dolphins win: the 28 split $4,590.00, with $164 per share. That’s a nice bump from the $34.00 a few weeks ago.
• If the Steelers win: add Ben jamin, forbidden donut, Fowlz, Hog For Life, and TOGOM for 33 total winners at $139.00 each. Still better than $34.00.
Pick 1 pools and the close call
• Winner Pool: down 1; 23 remain.
• Loser Pool: down 2; 20 remain.
It could’ve been much worse—Indianapolis took the lead with seconds left and then let it slip. Would’ve been great to see Phillip Rivers get that win.
Accumulative standings
Hail Yeah is pulling away in the Accumulative Pool with 116 wins, four ahead of AL&BW, Baarty Party, and Canadian Joe. With only three weeks left, first place looks solid. Second and third are wide open: five are one game back, and another ten are just two wins out of the money.
Final 3 weeks: pick-posting protocol
For the last three weeks, I’m continuing a process from past seasons to keep things fair:
• Pick 1 Winner and Loser Pools: I won’t post any picks until all have been received.
• Status: your alias will be highlighted GREEN when your picks are in. Once all aliases are GREEN, I’ll post the teams.
• Accumulative Pool: I won’t post picks for anyone with 111 wins or more until all of those picks are received.
• Status: those aliases will be highlighted YELLOW until picks arrive, then changed to GREEN. When all YELLOWs turn GREEN, I’ll publish those picks.
• Exception: I’m one of the Poolers at 111 wins, so I’ll post my picks early to avoid any perception of advantage.
I’ll also send an email tomorrow outlining this change. Not everyone reads the blog—though, let’s be honest, even fewer read my emails.
